In February 2021, I had the idea to make a mini plant hanger for my car. Inspired by Pinterest and driven by my love for plants and creativity, I came up with what’s now my best-seller: The Mini Air Plant Hanger. It quickly caught on in a few Vancouver Island houseplant Facebook groups, and soon I was experimenting with new styles and getting requests for larger pieces.

Over a year later, that small idea has grown into a full-on small business. I now attend markets across the island, and my work is available in local storefronts—bringing a little greenery and handmade charm wherever it goes.

At Van Isle Macrame, I do my best to source materials locally and support other small businesses along the way. From plant hangers to decor and accessories, every piece is handmade by me with care.
